2008: In June 2008, the CPO took on what has been the orchestra's most ambitious project to date with a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 2 'Resurrection' at St David's Hall, Cardiff. "Even professional orchestras go pale at the prospect of performing this work but the CPO, confident and assured in every section, revelled in the music." South Wales Echo, 23 June 2008.
2007: The CPO's 2007 Christmas Night at the Movies concert was devoted to John Williams' film music. The John Williams Fan Club reviewed the concert:
"During the summer the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra had come from London and played several of John Williams pieces, but all in all, The Cardiff Philharmonic provided the much bigger treat to dedicate a whole concert to the music of John Williams in the Welsh Capital."
