Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra was formed in 1982 and is recognised as one of Wales' foremost non-professional orchestras, performing a wide-ranging repertoire from major symphonic works to light classics and film music.
In 2011 CPO made its debut at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon and at BBC Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff including centenary performances of Elgar's Symphony No. 2. In November the orchestra performed for the first time at the Blake Theatre, Monmouth.
